महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-286, verse-4

इष्टो भक्तश्च मे कर्णो न चान्यद्दैवतं दिवि ।
जानीत इति वै कृत्वा भगवानाह मद्धितम् ॥४॥
4. iṣṭo bhaktaśca me karṇo na cānyaddaivataṁ divi ,
jānīta iti vai kṛtvā bhagavānāha maddhitam.
4. iṣṭaḥ bhaktaḥ ca me karṇaḥ na ca anyat daivatam
divi | jānīta iti vai kṛtvā bhagavān āha mat hitam
4. Karṇa is dear and devoted to me; indeed, there is no other deity (daivata) in heaven (divi) like him. Knowing this, the Lord (bhagavān) spoke words beneficial for me.
