महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-232, verse-17

अथासौ मृदुयुद्धेन न मुञ्चेद्भीम कौरवान् ।
सर्वोपायैर्विमोच्यास्ते निगृह्य परिपन्थिनः ॥१७॥
17. athāsau mṛduyuddhena na muñcedbhīma kauravān ,
sarvopāyairvimocyāste nigṛhya paripanthinaḥ.
17. atha asau mṛduyuddhena na muñcet bhīma kauravān
sarvaiḥ upāyaiḥ vimocyāḥ te nigṛhya paripanthinaḥ
17. Then, O Bhīma, if that one does not release the Kauravas even with a gentle fight, those enemies must be subdued, and then the Kauravas are to be released by all possible means.
