महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-182, verse-10

ते तमूचुर्महात्मानं न वयं सत्क्रियां मुने ।
त्वत्तोऽर्हाः कर्मदोषेण ब्राह्मणो हिंसितो हि नः ॥१०॥
10. te tamūcurmahātmānaṁ na vayaṁ satkriyāṁ mune ,
tvatto'rhāḥ karmadoṣeṇa brāhmaṇo hiṁsito hi naḥ.
10. te tam ūcuḥ mahātmānam na vayam satkriyām mune
tvattaḥ arhāḥ karmadoṣeṇa brāhmaṇaḥ hiṃsitaḥ hi naḥ
10. They said to that great-souled (mahātman) sage, "O sage, we are not worthy of hospitality from you, because we have indeed killed a Brahmin due to the fault of our deeds (karma)."
