महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-148, verse-36

लोके क्षीणे क्षयं यान्ति भावा लोकप्रवर्तकाः ।
युगक्षयकृता धर्माः प्रार्थनानि विकुर्वते ॥३६॥
36. loke kṣīṇe kṣayaṁ yānti bhāvā lokapravartakāḥ ,
yugakṣayakṛtā dharmāḥ prārthanāni vikurvate.

36. When the world declines, the very principles that govern it also decay. The (natural) laws (dharma) established by the decline of the age (yuga) corrupt people's aspirations.
