महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-137, verse-9

स तदा मन्युनाविष्टस्तपस्वी भृशकोपनः ।
अवलुप्य जटामेकां जुहावाग्नौ सुसंस्कृते ॥९॥
9. sa tadā manyunāviṣṭastapasvī bhṛśakopanaḥ ,
avalupya jaṭāmekāṁ juhāvāgnau susaṁskṛte.

avalupya jaṭām ekām juhāva agnau susaṃskṛte
9. Then, that ascetic (tapasvin), overcome by anger (manyu) and extremely wrathful, tore out one of his matted locks (jaṭā) and offered it into the well-consecrated fire (agni).
