महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-137, verse-10

ततः समभवन्नारी तस्या रूपेण संमिता ।
अवलुप्यापरां चाथ जुहावाग्नौ जटां पुनः ॥१०॥

10. tataḥ samabhavannārī tasyā rūpeṇa saṁmitā ,
avalupyāparāṁ cātha juhāvāgnau jaṭāṁ punaḥ.

10. tataḥ sam abhavat nārī tasyā rūpeṇa sammitā
avalupya aparām ca atha juhāva agnau jaṭām punaḥ

10. From that (offering), a woman appeared, resembling her (the daughter-in-law) in form. Then, having plucked another matted lock (jaṭā), he again offered it into the fire (agni).

10. ואז קמה אישה שדומה לכלתו ביופיה. לאחר מכן עקר קווצת שיער נוספת והשליך אותה שוב אל האש.
