महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-140, verse-25

एवं सेन्द्रा वसिष्ठेन रक्षितास्त्रिदिवौकसः ।
ब्रह्मदत्तवराश्चैव हता दैत्या महात्मना ॥२५॥
25. evaṁ sendrā vasiṣṭhena rakṣitāstridivaukasaḥ ,
brahmadattavarāścaiva hatā daityā mahātmanā.
25. evaṃ sa-indrāḥ vasiṣṭhena rakṣitāḥ tridivaukasaḥ
brahmadattavarāḥ ca eva hatāḥ daityāḥ mahātmanā
25. evaṃ vasiṣṭhena sa-indrāḥ tridivaukasaḥ rakṣitāḥ
ca eva mahātmanā brahmadattavarāḥ daityāḥ hatāḥ
25. Thus, the dwellers of heaven, including Indra, were protected by Vasiṣṭha. And indeed, the Daityas, who had received boons from (brahma), were killed by the great-souled one.
