महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-140, verse-23

कैलासं प्रस्थितां चापि नदीं गङ्गां महातपाः ।
आनयत्तत्सरो दिव्यं तया भिन्नं च तत्सरः ॥२३॥
23. kailāsaṁ prasthitāṁ cāpi nadīṁ gaṅgāṁ mahātapāḥ ,
ānayattatsaro divyaṁ tayā bhinnaṁ ca tatsaraḥ.

23. The great ascetic also brought the river Ganga, which was proceeding towards Kailasa, to that divine lake. And that lake was then split by her.
