महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-135, verse-22

एतौ धर्मार्थशास्त्रेषु मोक्षशास्त्रेषु चर्षिभिः ।
प्रधानाविति निर्दिष्टौ कामेशाभिमतौ नृणाम् ॥२२॥
22. etau dharmārthaśāstreṣu mokṣaśāstreṣu carṣibhiḥ ,
pradhānāviti nirdiṣṭau kāmeśābhimatau nṛṇām.

22. These two (deśa and kāla) are designated by sages (ṛṣi) as principal in the scriptures concerning natural law (dharma) and worldly prosperity (artha), and also in the scriptures concerning liberation (mokṣa). They are, moreover, desired by the Lord of Love (Kāmeśa) for humans.
