महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-9, verse-8

ततः प्रणादः संजज्ञे सर्वेषु कुरुवेश्मसु ।
आकुमारं पुरं सर्वमभवच्छोककर्शितम् ॥८॥
8. tataḥ praṇādaḥ saṁjajñe sarveṣu kuruveśmasu ,
ākumāraṁ puraṁ sarvamabhavacchokakarśitam.

8. Then, a great wailing arose in all the Kuru palaces. The entire city, including its children, became emaciated and distressed by grief.
