महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-47, verse-8

सूत उवाच ।
एवमुक्तः स राजर्षिर्मेने सर्पं हि तक्षकम् ।
हुताशनमुखं दीप्तं प्रविष्टमिति सत्तम ॥८॥
8. sūta uvāca ,
evamuktaḥ sa rājarṣirmene sarpaṁ hi takṣakam ,
hutāśanamukhaṁ dīptaṁ praviṣṭamiti sattama.
8. sūtaḥ uvāca evam uktaḥ saḥ rājarṣiḥ mene sarpam hi
takṣakam hutāśanamukham dīptam praviṣṭam iti sattama
8. Sūta said: 'O best one, thus addressed, that royal sage indeed believed that Takṣaka, the serpent, had entered, appearing blazing and fire-mouthed.'
