महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-179, verse-8

नावहास्या भविष्यामो न च लाघवमास्थिताः ।
न च विद्विष्टतां लोके गमिष्यामो महीक्षिताम् ॥८॥
8. nāvahāsyā bhaviṣyāmo na ca lāghavamāsthitāḥ ,
na ca vidviṣṭatāṁ loke gamiṣyāmo mahīkṣitām.
8. na avahāsyāḥ bhaviṣyāmaḥ na ca lāghavam āsthitāḥ
na ca vidviṣṭatām loke gamiṣyāmaḥ mahīkṣitām
8. Then we will not become a laughingstock, nor will we incur disrespect, nor will we earn the enmity of kings (mahīkṣit) in the world.
