दृढदुःखवदन्तत्वाद्दुःखयन्ति सुखानि माम् ॥ ५ ॥

O sage, pleasures are truly great pains; therefore, suffering is preferable. This is because pleasures cause me pain by inevitably ending in intense suffering.
