नानुभूतेऽनुभूते च स्वतश्चिद्व्योम्नि या स्मृतिः ।
सा जगद्भूरिति प्रौढा दृश्या सास्त्येव चित्प्रभा ॥ ९ ॥

That memory (smṛti) which arises spontaneously in the pure ether of consciousness (cit-vyoman) is neither of what has been experienced nor of what has not been experienced. That very profound and perceptible appearance, which is the source of the world (jagat), is indeed the radiance of consciousness (cit-prabhā).
