योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-4, chapter-24, verse-9

पद्मिन्य इव हेमन्ते क्षीयन्ते भोगवासनाः ।
तावन्निशीथवेताला वल्गन्ति हृदि वासनाः ॥ ९ ॥
padminya iva hemante kṣīyante bhogavāsanāḥ ,
tāvanniśīthavetālā valganti hṛdi vāsanāḥ 9

tāvat niśīthavetālā valganti hṛdi vāsanāḥ ||
9. hemante padminyaḥ iva bhogavāsanāḥ kṣīyante

9. Just as lotus flowers wither in winter, desires for worldly enjoyments (bhogavāsanāḥ) dwindle. Until they are fully eradicated, latent impressions (vāsanāḥ) dance in the heart like nocturnal goblins.
