वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-18, verse-5

अद्याहं मार्गणैः प्राणानादास्ये जीवितान्तकैः ।
सलिले क्षीरमासक्तं निष्पिबन्निव सारसः ॥५॥
5. adyāhaṃ mārgaṇaiḥ prāṇānādāsye jīvitāntakaiḥ ,
salile kṣīramāsaktaṃ niṣpibanniva sārasaḥ.
5. adya aham mārgaṇaiḥ prāṇān ādāsye jīvitāntakaiḥ
salile kṣīram āsaktam niṣpiban iva sārasaḥ
5. adya aham jīvitāntakaiḥ mārgaṇaiḥ prāṇān ādāsye,

5. Today I will take away their lives with my life-ending arrows, just as a crane drinks out (separates and drinks) milk mixed in water.
