वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-31, verse-2

दीप्तियुक्तान्महोत्साहान् क्षत्रधर्मचिकीर्षया ।
तानुवाच कुशः पुत्रान्धर्मिष्ठान् सत्यवादिनः ।
क्रियतां पालनं पुत्रा धर्मं प्राप्स्यथ पुष्कलम् ॥२॥

2. Kuśa, desiring to fulfill the duty (dharma) of a warrior (kṣatra), addressed his sons, who were radiant, greatly enthusiastic, most righteous, and truthful. He said: 'O sons, let governance be established; you will thereby achieve abundant righteousness (dharma).'
