क्रियतां पालनं पुत्रा धर्मं प्राप्स्यथ पुष्कलम् ॥२॥

Kuśa, desiring to fulfill the duty (dharma) of a warrior (kṣatra), addressed his sons, who were radiant, greatly enthusiastic, most righteous, and truthful. He said: 'O sons, let governance be established; you will thereby achieve abundant righteousness (dharma).'
