अभुक्तमूलजं पुत्रं पुत्रीं वाऽपि परित्यजेत् ।
अथवाऽब्दाष्टकं तातस्तन्मुखं न विलोकयेत् ॥२॥

One should abandon a son or even a daughter born in the inauspicious portion of the Mūla lunar mansion. Alternatively, the father should not look at that child's face for eight years.
