बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-93, verse-14

देवाधिदेवप्रीत्यर्थं होमं कुर्याद्यथाविधि ।
अष्टोत्तरं सहस्रं वा शतं वा नियतेन्द्रियः ॥१४॥
14. devādhidevaprītyarthaṃ homaṃ kuryādyathāvidhi .
aṣṭottaraṃ sahasraṃ vā śataṃ vā niyatendriyaḥ.
14. devādhideva prītyartham homam kuryāt yathāvidhi
aṣṭottaram sahasram vā śatam vā niyatendriyaḥ
14. For the pleasure of the Supreme God, one whose senses are controlled should perform the oblation according to the prescribed procedure, either 1008 times or 100 times.
