मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-89, verse-34

तस्य निष्क्रामतो देवी प्रहस्य स्वनवत्ततः ।
शिरश्चिच्छेद खड्गेन ततोऽसावपतद् भुवि ॥३४॥
34. tasya niṣkrāmato devī prahasya svanavattataḥ .
śiraściccheda khaḍgena tato'sāvapatad bhuvi.

śiraḥ ciccheda khaḍgena tataḥ asau apatat bhuvi
34. As that being was emerging, the Goddess laughed loudly, and then, with a resounding noise, she cut off his head with her sword. Thereupon, he fell to the ground.
