मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-89, verse-31

तस्यापतत एवाशु गदां चिच्छेद चण्डिका ।
खड्गेन शितधारेण स च शूलं समाददे ॥३१॥
31. tasyāpatata evāśu gadāṃ ciccheda caṇḍikā .
khaḍgena śitadhāreṇa sa ca śūlaṃ samādade.

31. As he advanced swiftly, Chandika severed his mace with a sharp-edged sword. Then, he (Nishumbha) grasped a spear.
