मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-89, verse-25

शुम्भमुक्ताञ्छरान्देवी शुम्भस्तत्प्रहिताञ्छरान् ।
चिच्छेद स्वशरैरुग्रैः शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥२५॥
25. śumbhamuktāñcharāndevī śumbhastatprahitāñcharān .
ciccheda svaśarairugraiḥ śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ.
25. śumbhamuktān śarān devī śumbhaḥ tatprahitān śarān
ciccheda svaśaraiḥ ugraiḥ śataśaḥ atha sahasraśaḥ
25. The Goddess cut off the arrows released by Śumbha, and Śumbha, in turn, severed the arrows she had sent, both doing so with fierce arrows, by hundreds and then by thousands.
