मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-115, verse-9

राजोवाच ।
धिङ्मामपुण्यसंस्थानमल्पभाग्यमशोभनम् ।
दैवदोषकृतं पापं सर्वलोकविगर्हितम् ॥९॥
9. rājovāca .
dhiṅmāmapuṇyasaṃsthānamalpabhāgyamaśobhanam .
daivadoṣakṛtaṃ pāpaṃ sarvalokavigarhitam.
9. rājā uvāca dhik mām apuṇyasaṃsthānam alpabhāgyam
aśobhanam daivadoṣakṛtam pāpam sarvalokavigarhitam
9. The king said: 'Shame on me, whose very being is devoid of merit, who is unfortunate and ignoble, for this transgression (pāpa) brought about by a flaw of destiny and condemned by all the world!'
