महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-2, verse-9

जयो वापि वधो वापि युध्यमानस्य संयुगे ।
भवेत्किमत्र चित्रं वै युध्यध्वं सर्वतोमुखाः ॥९॥
9. jayo vāpi vadho vāpi yudhyamānasya saṁyuge ,
bhavetkimatra citraṁ vai yudhyadhvaṁ sarvatomukhāḥ.
9. jayaḥ vā api vadhaḥ vā api yudhyamānasya saṃyuge
bhavet kim atra citram vai yudhyadhvam sarvatomukhāḥ
9. saṃyuge yudhyamānasya jayaḥ vā api vadhaḥ vā api
bhavet kim atra citram vai sarvatomukhāḥ yudhyadhvam
9. For one fighting in battle, either victory or death may occur; what wonder is there in that? Indeed, fight fiercely, facing all directions!
