नातः परं वैनतेय किंचित्पापिष्ठमुच्यते ।
यथाशानाशनं लोके देहि नास्तीति वा वचः ॥९॥

O son of Vinatā (Garuḍa), nothing in this world is said to be more sinful than the destruction of hope, or the declaration 'Give! There is nothing (to give)'.
