महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-35, verse-4

अक्षान्हि दृष्ट्वा शकुनेर्यथावत्कामानुलोमानयुजो युजश्च ।
शक्यं नियन्तुमभविष्यदात्मा मन्युस्तु हन्ति पुरुषस्य धैर्यम् ॥४॥

4. akṣān hi dṛṣṭvā śakuneḥ yathāvat
kāmānulomān ayujaḥ yujaḥ ca |

manyuḥ tu hanti puruṣasya dhairyam

4. Indeed, if one had correctly perceived Śakuni's dice—the odd and even numbers that were favorable to his wishes—then it would have been possible to control one's own self (ātman). But anger truly destroys a person's fortitude.
