That great deceiver (mahāmāyaḥ) Śakuni, from the mountains (pārvatīyaḥ), always casting dice (akṣapūgān pravapann) in the assembly hall, played against me, who am guileless (amāyinam), with his deception (māyayā). Therefore, O Bhīmasena, I saw ruin (vṛjinam).
