महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-288, verse-15

सुमहत्यपराधेऽपि क्षान्तिः कार्या द्विजातिभिः ।
यथाशक्ति यथोत्साहं पूजा ग्राह्या द्विजोत्तम ॥१५॥

15. Even in the case of a very great offense, patience and forgiveness (kṣānti) should be shown by brahmins (dvijāti). O best of brahmins (dvijāti), honor (pūjā) should be accepted according to one's ability and enthusiasm.

15. אפילו על עבירה חמורה מאוד על הבְּרַהְמִינים לסלוח. הו מעולה בין הבְּרַהְמִינים, קבל את הכבוד לפי יכולתה ומרצה.
