महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-210, verse-6

दश वर्षसहस्राणि तपस्तप्त्वा महातपाः ।
जनयत्पावकं घोरं पितॄणां स प्रजाः सृजन् ॥६॥
6. daśa varṣasahasrāṇi tapastaptvā mahātapāḥ ,
janayatpāvakaṁ ghoraṁ pitṝṇāṁ sa prajāḥ sṛjan.

janayat pāvakaṃ ghoraṃ pitṝṇām sa prajāḥ sṛjan
6. Having performed great asceticism (tapas) for ten thousand years, that great ascetic (mahātapas) generated a terrible fire while creating the progeny for the ancestors (pitṛs).
