महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-207, verse-6

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् ।
यथा क्रुद्धो हुतवहस्तपस्तप्तुं वनं गतः ॥६॥
6. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
atrāpyudāharantīmamitihāsaṁ purātanam ,
yathā kruddho hutavahastapastaptuṁ vanaṁ gataḥ.
6. mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca atra api udāharanti imam itihāsam
purātanam yathā kruddhaḥ hutavahaḥ tapaḥ taptum vanam gataḥ
6. Mārkaṇḍeya said: In this regard, they also relate this ancient narrative (itihāsa): how the enraged fire god (hutavaha) went to the forest to perform austerity (tapas).
