महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-207, verse-10

अथ संचिन्तयामास भगवान्हव्यवाहनः ।
अन्योऽग्निरिह लोकानां ब्रह्मणा संप्रवर्तितः ।
अग्नित्वं विप्रनष्टं हि तप्यमानस्य मे तपः ॥१०॥
10. atha saṁcintayāmāsa bhagavānhavyavāhanaḥ ,
anyo'gniriha lokānāṁ brahmaṇā saṁpravartitaḥ ,
agnitvaṁ vipranaṣṭaṁ hi tapyamānasya me tapaḥ.

havyavāhanaḥ anyaḥ agniḥ iha lokānām
brahmaṇā saṃpravartitaḥ agnitvam
vipranaṣṭam hi tapyamānasya me tapaḥ
10. Then the revered fire-god (Agni) thought deeply: "Indeed, my fire-nature is completely lost while I perform this penance (tapas). Another fire has been made to function here for the worlds by Brahmā."
