महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-113, verse-3

न तानि सेवेत मुनिर्यतात्मा सतां लोकान्प्रार्थयानः कथंचित् ।
कृत्वा विघ्नं तापसानां रमन्ते पापाचारास्तपसस्तान्यपाप ॥३॥
3. na tāni seveta muniryatātmā; satāṁ lokānprārthayānaḥ kathaṁcit ,
kṛtvā vighnaṁ tāpasānāṁ ramante; pāpācārāstapasastānyapāpa.
3. na tāni sevet muniḥ yatātmā
satām lokān prārthayānaḥ kathancit
kṛtvā vighnaṃ tāpasānām
ramante pāpācārāḥ tapasaḥ tāni apāpa
3. A sage (muni) who has controlled himself and seeks the worlds of the virtuous should not associate with them in any way. Those whose conduct is sinful delight in creating obstacles for ascetics (tapasvins); such (obstacles) are sinful regarding their (the ascetics') penance (tapas).
