Self-giving (ātmapradāna), gentleness (saumyatva), and sustenance (upajīvana) [should be derived] from the waters (adbhyaḥ); patience (kṣamā) from the earth (bhūmi); and complete splendor (tejas) from the sun's disk (sūryamaṇḍala).
