महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-29, verse-5

तत्र युद्धं महद्वृत्तं शूरैर्मत्तमयूरकैः ।
मरुभूमिं च कार्त्स्न्येन तथैव बहुधान्यकम् ॥५॥
5. tatra yuddhaṁ mahadvṛttaṁ śūrairmattamayūrakaiḥ ,
marubhūmiṁ ca kārtsnyena tathaiva bahudhānyakam.

marubhūmim ca kārtsnyena tathaiva bahudhānyakam
5. There, a great battle took place with the heroic Mattamayūrakas. And similarly, he completely subjugated the Marubhūmi (desert region) and Bahudhānyaka.
