महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-14, verse-10

कृष्ण उवाच ।
आदत्तेऽर्थपरो बालो नानुबन्धमवेक्षते ।
तस्मादरिं न मृष्यन्ति बालमर्थपरायणम् ॥१०॥
10. kṛṣṇa uvāca ,
ādatte'rthaparo bālo nānubandhamavekṣate ,
tasmādariṁ na mṛṣyanti bālamarthaparāyaṇam.
10. kṛṣṇaḥ uvāca ādatte arthaparaḥ bālaḥ na anubandham
avekṣate tasmāt arim na mṛṣyanti bālam arthaparāyaṇam
10. Krishna (Kṛṣṇa) said: An immature person (bāla) who is solely focused on personal gain does not consider the consequences. Therefore, people do not tolerate an enemy who is immature and exclusively intent on self-interest.
