एवमुक्त्वा तु स पितॄंश्चचार पृथिवीं मुनिः ।
न च स्म लभते भार्यां वृद्धोऽयमिति शौनक ॥९॥

9. sūta uvāca ,
evamuktvā tu sa pitṝṁścacāra pṛthivīṁ muniḥ ,
na ca sma labhate bhāryāṁ vṛddho'yamiti śaunaka.

Sūta said: Having spoken thus, that sage wandered the earth in accordance with his ancestors' wishes. However, O Śaunaka, he did not find a wife, for people considered him old.
