पितर ऊचुः ।
पुत्र दिष्ट्यासि संप्राप्त इमं देशं यदृच्छया ।
किमर्थं च त्वया ब्रह्मन्न कृतो दारसंग्रहः ॥३॥

3. pitara ūcuḥ ,
putra diṣṭyāsi saṁprāpta imaṁ deśaṁ yadṛcchayā ,
kimarthaṁ ca tvayā brahmanna kṛto dārasaṁgrahaḥ.

The ancestors said: 'O son, it is by good fortune that you have reached this place by chance! And why, O Brāhmaṇa, have you not taken a wife?'
