महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-42, verse-18

तत्र तां भैक्षवत्कन्यां प्रादात्तस्मै महात्मने ।
नागेन्द्रो वासुकिर्ब्रह्मन्न स तां प्रत्यगृह्णत ॥१८॥
18. tatra tāṁ bhaikṣavatkanyāṁ prādāttasmai mahātmane ,
nāgendro vāsukirbrahmanna sa tāṁ pratyagṛhṇata.
18. tatra tām bhaikṣavat kanyām prādāt tasmai mahātmane
nāgendraḥ vāsukiḥ brahman na sa tām pratyagṛhṇata
18. There, O Brahmana, the lord of serpents, Vasuki, offered that daughter to that great sage as though she were alms, but the sage did not accept her.
