महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-195, verse-11

यावत्कीर्तिर्मनुष्यस्य न प्रणश्यति कौरव ।
तावज्जीवति गान्धारे नष्टकीर्तिस्तु नश्यति ॥११॥
11. yāvatkīrtirmanuṣyasya na praṇaśyati kaurava ,
tāvajjīvati gāndhāre naṣṭakīrtistu naśyati.
11. yāvat kīrtiḥ manuṣyasya na praṇaśyati kaurava
tāvat jīvati gāndhāre naṣṭakīrtiḥ tu naśyati
11. O Kaurava, as long as a man's fame does not perish, he lives. But, O Gandhari, one whose fame is destroyed, perishes.
