महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-144, verse-5

ब्राह्मं वेदमधीयाना वेदाङ्गानि च सर्वशः ।
नीतिशास्त्रं च धर्मज्ञा ददृशुस्ते पितामहम् ॥५॥
5. brāhmaṁ vedamadhīyānā vedāṅgāni ca sarvaśaḥ ,
nītiśāstraṁ ca dharmajñā dadṛśuste pitāmaham.
5. brāhmaṃ vedam adhīyānāḥ vedāṅgāni ca sarvaśaḥ
nītiśāstraṃ ca dharmajñāḥ dadṛśuḥ te pitāmaham
5. They, who were learned in the sacred Veda, all the Vedāngas completely, and the science of ethics, and who understood (dharma), then saw their grandfather.
