हिडिम्बोवाच ।
नावमन्ये नरव्याघ्र त्वामहं देवरूपिणम् ।
दृष्टापदानस्तु मया मानुषेष्वेव राक्षसः ॥११॥

11. hiḍimbovāca ,
nāvamanye naravyāghra tvāmahaṁ devarūpiṇam ,
dṛṣṭāpadānastu mayā mānuṣeṣveva rākṣasaḥ.

Hidimba said: 'Oh tiger among men, I do not despise you, who possess a divine form. However, I am a rākṣasa (demon) whose deeds among humans have indeed been witnessed.'
