महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-120, verse-6

ततो जालपदीं नाम देवकन्यां सुरेश्वरः ।
प्राहिणोत्तपसो विघ्नं कुरु तस्येति कौरव ॥६॥
6. tato jālapadīṁ nāma devakanyāṁ sureśvaraḥ ,
prāhiṇottapaso vighnaṁ kuru tasyeti kaurava.

6. Then, O Kaurava, the lord of the gods (Sureśvara) sent a divine maiden (devakanyā) named Jalapadi, instructing her, 'Create an impediment to his austere practice (tapas).'
