शाकद्वीपोदयगिरितटे सप्तवर्षाणि सुप्तं पूर्वेणान्तर्विदलगहने यक्षसंमोहितेन ।
पाषाणाम्बु प्रसभममुनैवात्र पीत्वा दृषत्तामागत्यान्तः स्थितमथ समाः सप्त जात्येन भूमेः ॥ १७ ॥

yakṣasaṃmohitena pūrveṇa antaḥ vidala gahane śākadvīpa udayagiri taṭe sapta varṣāṇi suptam.

dṛṣattām āgatya atha bhūmeḥ antaḥ jātyena samāḥ sapta sthitam.

17.
On the slopes of Udayagiri in Śākadvīpa, he slept for seven years, having been enchanted by a yakṣa in a dense, inner thicket to the east. After that very one forcibly drank water from stones there, he then remained hidden within the earth for another seven years, according to the intrinsic nature (dharma) of the earth.
