पृथक्कृत्यैक्यमभ्येति स्वात्मा संसारखण्डकम् ।
सर्व एव मृतो जन्तुः पृथक्स्वप्ननिभात्मकम् ॥ ३ ॥

One's own self (ātman), having separated from unity, enters the fragmented state of the cycle of rebirth (saṃsāra). Indeed, every mortal creature is distinct and inherently dream-like.
