इत्युक्त्वा भगवान्कालो हसन्निव जगद्गतिम् ।
हस्ताद्धस्तेन जग्राह भृगुमिन्दुमिवांशुमान् ॥ १७ ॥

ityuktvā bhagavānkālo hasanniva jagadgatim ,
hastāddhastena jagrāha bhṛgumindumivāṃśumān 17

17. iti uktvā bhagavān kālaḥ hasan iva jagadgatim
hastāt hastena jagrāha bhṛgum indum iva aṃśumān

17. bhagavān kālaḥ iti uktvā jagadgatim hasan iva,
aṃśumān indum iva,
bhṛgum hastāt hastena jagrāha ॥

17. Having thus spoken, divine Time (Kāla), as if laughing at the course of the world, grasped Bhrigu by the hand, just as the radiant sun (Aṃśumān) takes hold of the moon.
