योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-13, verse-5

जनयन्ती परं दाहं परामृष्टाङ्गिका सती ।
विनाशमेव धत्तेऽन्तर्दीपलेखेव कज्जलम् ॥ ५ ॥
janayantī paraṃ dāhaṃ parāmṛṣṭāṅgikā satī ,
vināśameva dhatte'ntardīpalekheva kajjalam 5
5. janayantī param dāham parāmṛṣṭāṅgikā satī
vināśam eva dhatte antar dīpalekhā iva kajjalam
5. Though generating supreme distress and being engaged with, it nonetheless holds only destruction internally, just as a lamp's flame produces soot.
