योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-13, verse-10

न श्रीः सुखाय भगवन्दुःखायैव हि वर्धते ।
गुप्ता विनाशनं धत्ते मृतिं विषलता यथा ॥ १० ॥
na śrīḥ sukhāya bhagavanduḥkhāyaiva hi vardhate ,
guptā vināśanaṃ dhatte mṛtiṃ viṣalatā yathā 10
10. na śrīḥ sukhāya bhagavan duḥkhāya eva hi vardhate
guptā vināśanam dhatte mṛtim viṣalatā yathā
10. O Lord, prosperity does not truly bring happiness; it indeed only increases suffering. Even when carefully guarded, it leads to ruin and death, just like a poisonous vine.
