निःस्रोतसश्चाम्बुवाहा ह्रदाश्च सरितस्तथा ।

5. niḥsrotasaścāmbuvāhā hradāśca saritastathā ,
saṃkṣobhaścaiva sattvānāmanāvṛṣṭikṛto'bhavat.

5. The clouds became streamless, and likewise the lakes and rivers. And indeed, there was a great agitation (saṃkṣobha) among all living beings (sattva), caused by the lack of rain.
