वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-47, verse-3

मामिकेयं तनुर्नूनं सृष्टा दुःखाय लक्ष्मण ।
धात्रा यस्यास्तथा मे ऽद्य दुःखमूर्तिः प्रदृश्यते ॥३॥
3. māmikeyaṃ tanurnūnaṃ sṛṣṭā duḥkhāya lakṣmaṇa ,
dhātrā yasyāstathā me'dya duḥkhamūrtiḥ pradṛśyate.
3. māmikā iyam tanuḥ nūnam sṛṣṭā duḥkhāya lakṣmaṇa |
dhātrā yasyāḥ tathā me adya duḥkhamūrtiḥ pradṛśyate
3. lakṣmaṇa māmikā iyam tanuḥ nūnam dhātrā duḥkhāya

3. O Lakṣmaṇa, surely this body of mine was created for suffering (duḥkha) by the creator, since today, such a sorrowful image (duḥkhamūrti) of it appears to me.
