वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-26, verse-10

नूनं स कालो मृगरूपधारी मामल्पभाग्यां लुलुभे तदानीम् ।
यत्रार्यपुत्रं विससर्ज मूढा रामानुजं लक्ष्मणपूर्वकं च ॥१०॥
10. nūnaṃ sa kālo mṛgarūpadhārī māmalpabhāgyāṃ lulubhe tadānīm ,
yatrāryaputraṃ visasarja mūḍhā rāmānujaṃ lakṣmaṇapūrvakaṃ ca.
10. nūnam sa kālaḥ mṛgarūpadhārī mām
alpabhāgyām lulubhe tadānīm |
yatra āryaputram visasarja mūḍhā
rāmānujam lakṣmaṇapūrvakam ca
10. Surely that Time (kāla), assuming the form of a deer, deluded me, the unfortunate one, at that moment. As a result, I foolishly sent forth the noble prince (Rāma), and Rāma's younger brother, Lakṣmaṇa.
